Three reasons to choose Magento

In a previous blog, we have discussed the differences between the different major platforms. There we mentioned that Magento works best for companies that want to grow substantially or are in the process of growing. Or for companies that offer a large and/or complex range of products. For these shops, we are going to explain in this blog why a Magento shop would be ideal.

Stable yet flexible

Magento is a heavy program and can therefore handle heavy shops. Provided the right hosting is implemented, you will therefore have a robust shop. Due to its complexity, Magento has given many the impression of being less flexible than other platforms. However, this is not entirely true. Magento offers a huge range of options for personalization. From plug-ins to themes, just about everything can be adjusted and customized within this program. It does take a lot of knowledge to set up a Magento shop, but once you have this knowledge (externally or within your company), a strong shop is almost a guarantee. What makes Magento flexible is the ability to link different front-ends to the site. For example, you can run the shop itself on Magento but link a homepage from another program to it. Integration of other systems such as accounting and payment options is also quite possible. There is truly plenty of choice.

Safe

Luckily, most of today’s web shops have already switched to Magento 2 by now. This is just as well, as support for Magento 1 has been discontinued for some time. This brings us to the security of Magento 2. Security patches of the program come online fairly regularly and are very well monitored. This is thanks in part to Magento’s large community. This community is quick to advise on any problems that may be encountered. For example, there are discussions on various platforms about the latest updates and best plug-ins. Because the community is highly technical, you can usually find an expert answer to any problems or sensitivities within Magento very quickly. There is also a wide range of expertise for the Dutch market. Where other platforms sometimes sell the Dutch business world short, the Dutch Magento community is also quite large. Even though everything is mainly discussed in English, there are many platforms for Dutch companies using Magento.

Scalable

As a final reason, there is scalability. Compared to the biggest other platforms, Magento is the most scalable. It is very possible to set up several shops from one back-end, in all languages. Magento also takes into account the different tax rates within different countries by default. Not only this, but also growing with a business is very well possible. Adding, modifying or removing products, categories or filters is very much possible. This makes it easier for a company to prepare for the future.
